AERONAUTICAL MARKET

This sector represents nearly 20% of the group’s turnover.
Our method, which combines ultrasounds and the chemical action of a cleaning product, allows us to achieve a high level of performance.

It is this high level of quality that allows us, in the aeronautics industry, to respond to markets for the production of new parts but also in the field of maintenance.

WHY ARE WATER-BASED ULTRASONIC CLEANING SOLUTIONS PARTICULARLY WELL SUITED TO THE AERONAUTICAL SECTOR?

In the bath, the parts are treated in total immersion. The entire surface of the part to be cleaned is subjected to the phenomenon of micro-bubbling and the action of cleaning product. In comparison, jet washing or spraying solutions are much less effective.

In this field of maintenance, ultrasounds make a real difference because cleaning problems are much more difficult. For example, on parts of an engine that has been running for a certain number of hours, we are dealing with pollutants transformed by use that are very tricky to remove. Ultrasounds, thanks to their high level of performance, provide real efficiency.

OTHER ADVANTAGES OF FISA FOR THE AERONAUTICS SECTOR

Our adaptability. Every project, every customer, every procedure and every part to be cleaned is different. Our machines are custom-made and we set up unique cleaning processes for each project. When we manufacture our machines, we start from a bank of standard components and functions. These standard elements are adapted and interlocked to create a unique and customized machine, specific to each customer application.

Our ability to handle projects in the aeronautics sector is also explained by a specific requirement of this sector: the obligation to follow procedures.

These procedures can be very precise in defining the method or process of cleaning. They may also target cleaning objectives that need to be achieved. We are therefore required to meet very precise technical specifications for the definition part of the machine or very precise in terms of expected results. Sometimes we even have to deal with outdated “shop manuals” that oblige us to convert old procedures into more modern ones. Our cleaning solutions meet these restrictions, and call upon our ability to adapt and the expertise acquired by our many references. We remain open to understand customer issues, then we adapt our machines and processes. We offer global solutions.

GLOBAL SOLUTIONS THAT ARE APPRECIATED AND SOUGHT OUT IN THE AERONAUTICS SECTOR

We are not only machine manufacturers, we also bring you solutions.

Increasingly, we are finding that, amongst our clients, the resources available to manage all aspects of a cleaning project are quite limited. They do not have the necessary skills to define all aspects of a cleaning project. The advantage of our global solution is to provide our customers with the skills to define all aspects of a cleaning project and of course to provide them with expertise at all levels: machines, cleaning products, water treatment, waste treatment, automation, software…

This global expertise is made possible thanks to FISA’s own structure: manufacturing plants, after-sales service, an entity integrated into the group that markets cleaning products (FIMM) and laboratories to test our solutions directly on customers’ parts. Our laboratories are your guarantee that you have chosen the right solution for the machine and the right solution for the cleaning product.

WHAT TYPE OF CUSTOMERS DO WE HAVE IN THE AERONAUTICS SECTOR

Our customers are not only aircraft manufacturers but also companies that provide them with equipment and services. We work for the production of new parts, such as for Safran and their power transmission production site. For this customer, we have supplied machines for different stages of production. We clean the same parts at different stages of manufacturing right through to their final assembly.

We also offer cleaning solutions for aircraft maintenance. For example, we have supplied various machines for companies belonging to Air France for cleaning motor bearings.

Customer satisfaction in the aeronautics sector is associated with the quality of our after-sales service and the maintenance contracts that we sign with our customers. They enable us to work with customers to monitor and manage operation of the machine throughout its lifetime: from installation to regular monitoring of its day-to-day running, including user training (FISA is a certified training organization). All this support contributes greatly to customer satisfaction.

Our customers also appreciate our trials laboratories. These structures are designed to test recommended cleaning processes. The customer sends his part and we can quickly get back to him with a suitable solution. The final characterization then takes place on the customer’s premises, integrating the operations that the part will have to undergo: heat treatments, layers of varnish… These operations can modify the characteristics of the surface.

We have around fifteen trials laboratories in the group, in our subsidiaries in France, Spain, Italy, China or the United States.

WE CAN CLEAN ANY AIRCRAFT PART !

Bearings, reactors, pods, vanes, portholes, windscreens… Our solutions are flexible and can be adapted to any size of part. We are capable of manufacturing machines with 0.5 litre tank volume to over 20,000 litres. The scope covered in terms of parts is very wide. To clean 1.80m long housing parts, for example, we have created a machine with a tank capacity of 3000 litres.

Integral electronic equipment for cockpits and all digital on-board instrumentation may also require cleaning operations either in production or in maintenance. Screens, for example, must withstand extreme operating conditions and be treated with anti-scratch or anti-fog treatments. We have the experience and expertise to respond to this type of problem (cleaning and coating).

Ultrasounds are an excellent solution to these problems.
